KABUL (IRNA) -- An Afghan official on Wednesday rejected allegations raised against Iran on its support for opponents of the Afghan government.

Siamak Heravi, Deputy spokesman of Afghanistan's President Hamid Karzai, told IRNA that there is no evidence proving the Iranian government is interfering in domestic affairs of Afghanistan and the conflict between Afghan government and opponents.

Iran is a major donor to Afghan reconstruction and has provided assistance to the Afghan government and nation during the past 4.5 years, he added.

The official noted that Iran is involved in carrying out development projects in Afghanistan including construction of road and transport facilities and praised Iran's efforts in this regard.
